With reigning champion and nine-time Australian Open winner Novak Djokovic deported, No. 1 seed Ash Barty of Australia will headline the first day of the first Grand Slam of 2022 at Melbourne Park.

Barty will take to the Rod Laver Arena during the first night session against Ukrainian qualifier Lesia Tsurenko.

Spanish legend Rafael Nadal will also be on the main court against American Marcus Giron in the afternoon.

The first day will feature six matches involving Australians.
