How to add multiple accounts to Slack

Slack supports multiple workstations and multiple accounts. Unlike other apps that support multiple accounts, Slack does not require you to switch between accounts to see the existing workspaces. Instead, all you have to do is connect the various workspaces to the Slack desktop app and you’re good to go. The workspaces will appear in the workspace column, you will be able to switch to any of them, and you will receive notifications from all of them.

Make sure the Slack account you are signing in to is set up by workspace. If so, it’s best to know the name / URL of the workplace you want to join.

Post multiple accounts on Slack (desktop)

To add multiple accounts to Slack (desktop), follow these steps.

1. Open the Slack app on your desktop.
2. Click on the hamburger icon at the top left (at the top of the workspace column).
3. Go to File> Workplace> Log in to another workspace.

4. Opens a new tab in your browser.
5. Click Sign in to another workspace.
6. Select how you want to login ie, select login mode.
7. Select the workspace you want to log in to.
8. Click the Open button.
9. The workspace will be added to the Slack app.

Add multiple accounts for Slack (mobile)

To add multiple accounts to Slack mobile apps, you follow more or less the same process as the one on the desktop app.

1. Open the Slack app on your mobile device.
2. Tap on the selected custom workspace at the top left.
3. In the address drawer, select Add Workspace.
4. Select Sign in to another workspace.
5. Select sign-in mode (Google, Apple, Email, or URL).
6. Once logged in, select the workspace you want to add.
7. The workspace will be added to the Slack app.

Enter an account

If you want to sign out an account, you basically have to remove all the workspaces associated with it. To remove a workplace follow these steps.

On the desk;

1. Right-click the workspace you want to sign out of and select the opt-out option.
2. Repeat for all workspaces associated with the same account.

On the mobile apps;

1. Tap on the custom workspace at the top left.
2. In the workspace drawer, tap the More options button next to the workspace you want to log out of.
3. Select Sign Out.
4. Repeat for all workspaces associated with the same account.

Conclusion

Slack is based around workplaces. You can add as much as you can and never manually move between accounts to get to work on it. You only have to sign in and work out once. The Slack app serves as one main hub, regardless of account.
