You can edit them whenever you want but if you need to change images, table width, etc, it can take longer after that.
- Open the Google Docs document you want to edit borders into.
- Go to File> Setup Page.
- In the margin areas, raise or lower edges from top, bottom, left and right.
- Click Ok to apply the change to the current document.
- Click Set as default to apply the change to all documents you create in Google Docs.
The Page Setup box will not give users a visual view of their write space after editing margins. If you need a more visual way to edit edges in Google Docs, use the rulers.
- Open a Google Docs document.
- At the top, you will see rulers and sliders for where the edges are located.
- Click and drag the sliders to raise or lower the edges.

If you do not see controllers, go to View> Show controller.
