How to fix “BattlEye: Corrupted Data” error

BattlEye is the main software used to combat in-game cheats. Some of the biggest games, including PUBG and Fortnite, use it to keep their game servers free of cheats. When you install these games, BattlEye installed with them.

BattlEye can be fat; it can deter you from playing a game even if you are not cheating. If you see BattlEye error: Corrupted data, try the solutions below.

BattlEye Reset

BattlEye Error: Corrupted data is a problem with the anit-cheat-ware. You will need to reset. The easiest way to do this is through Steam.

  1. Leave any and all games used by BattlEye.
  2. Quit Steam (make sure it is not running in the System Suite).
  3. Open File Explorer.
  4. Navigate to the following folder:
C:Program FilesSteamLibrarysteamappscommonPUBGTslGameBinariesWin64BattlEye
  1. Run the Uninstall function in this folder. If you see an error that prevents you from uninstalling BattlEye, delete the entire folder.
  2. Steam Open.
  3. Go to the Library.
  4. Right-click on a game that uses BattlEye eg, PUBG and select Properties from the context menu.
  5. Go to the Local Files tab.
  6. Click Verify game file integrity.
  7. Let Steam verify the files, and repair the missing BattlEye part.
  8. Once the verification is complete, you will be able to play games using BattlEye.

Reset the game

If you still see the error “BattlEye: Corrupted Data” clean the game that is showing it.

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Go to Programs> Install Program.
  3. Select the game and click the Uninstall button.
  4. Once the game is installed, reinstall it and it should run without any problems.

Steam Reset

Resetting a game may not fix the “BattlEye: Corrupted Data” error. In this case, you should uninstall and reinstall Steam. Doing so will not delete game files.

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Go to Programs> Install Program.
  3. Select Steam and click the Uninstall button.
  4. Once installed, download and reinstall Steam again.


BattlEye is an anticheat-ware and sometimes it will work out if it thinks that an app you are running, no matter how harmless, is deceptive. This may be due to an error “BattlEye: Data Corrupted”. Make sure you are not running apps that are blocking or overriding your game and you should not have any problem.
