The LA Lakers will make their first trip of the 2021-22 NBA season when they meet the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday. The Lakers win a narrow 121-118 win over the Grizzlies, while the Spurs suffered 121-111 consecutive losses after losing to defending champions Milwaukee Bucks.

The Lakers were able to prevail after an embarrassing defeat against the Phoenix Suns. Carmelo Anthony did a great job scoring 28 points off the bench on a historic night and defeating Moses Malone to finish ninth on the NBA’s all-time top scorer list. Melo single-handedly played off the Memphis bank and gave his team a much-needed win.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs lost steam in the fourth quarter after standing side by side for much of the game when they lost to defending champions Milwaukee Bucks. Doug McDermott was huge for the Spurs, scoring 25 points and shooting 63.6% out of the perimeter in 11 attempts.
