How to disable Edge Browser Tabs in Alt + Tab on Windows 10

Microsoft Edge has some powerful chromium-based features and the latest versions of Windows 10 that together make life much easier for PC users.

If you’re a multitasker using built-in Windows 10, you may have learned about including Edge browser tabs in the Alt + Tab tab. And now, with the October 10 Windows 2020 Update and the latest version of Microsoft Edge, the command recognizes browser tabs as separate apps by default.

While the feature allows you to quickly switch between Edge browser apps and tabs, it may not always work for everyone. The good thing is that Microsoft has prepared to customize or remove the browser tabs from the Alt + Tab tab in the October 2020 update.

You may want to remove browser tabs from Alt + Tab to stop the address nightmare displayed by this option. The feature works well when you only have two tabs open. But when you introduce browser tabs, which can be many, it takes time to get to some things on the menu.

Follow these steps to prevent Microsoft Edge browser tabs from appearing in Alt + Tab in Windows 10 Update October 2020:

  1. Launch the Circumstances app
  2. go to System
  3. Choose Multitasking
  4. Below the “Alt + Tab” section, select Open windows only from the drop-down list

The next time you press Alt + Tab, the Edge browser tabs will not appear.

However, the browser tabs in the Alt + Tab experience are not so bad if you only have two open browser tabs. Instead of disabling the feature, you can customize it to include just a few of the most recent sites you’ve visited.

  • Open windows and all tabs in Edge
  • Open windows and 5 latest tabs in Edge
  • Open windows and 3 latest tabs in Edge

After applying any of the three options, you will see a maximum of 3 or 5 or the Edge browser tabs the next time you attack the Alt + Tab function switcher.

The Windows 10 Update October 2020 is a major OS update, so its innovative features come as no surprise to most users. But not all development is excellent for you, and customizing Windows 10 experiences comes down to what works for you. Hopefully, you can now tweak the new Alt + Tab feature in the latest version of Windows to enhance your experience.
