How to enable auto-jump in Minecraft on Windows 10

Minecraft has several biomes and none of them are completely smooth. You can create a smooth world if you are interested in construction but you will always find that there are blocks to jump over.

Jumping on Minecraft is not a complicated jump. In fact, the ‘jump’ control doubles to help players swim. The control, when executed on its own, allows the player to hop in. When the control is activated while the forward action / button is pressed, the player jumps. The same set of actions allows the player to swim.

For some users, jumping when needed is a daunting task. Minecraft is not a minefield so you will find that you are basically jumping over objects. To make it easier, Minecraft allows you to enable auto-jump.

Auto-jump in Minecraft

Auto-jump in Minecraft allows a player to ‘jump’ on one block automatically when the player is blocked or cannot move forward. If the player is submerged in water, a self-jump will allow the player to swim. The only condition is that the player pushes the walk forward button.

Auto-jump is available in both the Java and Bedrock editions of Minecraft. It can be enabled for both

1. Enable auto-jump in Minecraft – Keyboard

Self-jump is a situation throughout the game and not a specific world / map setting. Follow these steps to enable automatic jumping in Minecraft when playing with a keyboard.

  1. Open Minecraft.
  2. Click Circumstances.
  3. Go to Keyboard & mouse setting.
  4. Turn the Turn on auto-jump version.
  5. You will now able to jump automatically over a block if your forward key is pressed.

2. Enable auto-jump in Minecraft – Administrator

Auto-jump also works with the administrator however, you should know that the Java edition of Minecraft does not have native controller support. You can install administrator support for Minecraft Java via Steam but you need to enable auto-jump for it via the keyboard mode.

To enable auto-jump in Minecraft for an administrator, follow these steps.

  1. Connect your Xbox controller to your PC.
  2. Open Minecraft.
  3. go to Circumstances.
  4. Choose Administrator.
  5. Turn the Turn on auto-jump version.
  6. You will be able to jump automatically when you hold down the forward button / joy ship.

3. Enable auto-jump in Minecraft – Rubbing controls

Minecraft can run on touchscreens (Windows 10 tablets and 2-in-1 laptops) and for touchscreens you get on-screen controls. Auto-jump must be enabled for the separate friction controls.

  1. Open Minecraft.
  2. go to Circumstances.
  3. Click Rubbing.
  4. Turn the Turn on auto-jump version.

Self-jumping is not just useful when playing, it will put some pressure on your shoulder if you play with a keyboard. The setting cannot be incorporated into the game but you can always pause a game and change the setting if you do not like it.
