How to fix trusted platform module has malfunctioned on Windows 10

The TPM chip, up to Windows 10, was an optional hardware choice. Windows 11 comes, you need to have the chip or you will not be able to install the latest OS. If you have a TPM chip but suddenly it has stopped working, try the solutions below.

1. Uninstalled Health check app

Windows 11 is not out yet but many people are in a hurry to install the Health Check app that was not ready for use. Since then Microsoft has slowed down but the app has caused the TPM chip to work poorly. If you have installed the Health Check app, uninstall it.

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. go to Programs> Enter a program.
  3. Choose Windows PC Health Check and click the Uninstall button.

If this does not fix the problem, you may need to reinstall or reinstall Windows 10. If you have never installed the Health Check app, you can try the other solutions.

2. Clean TMP chip

You can clean the TPM chip and reset it to its default settings. That said, you should be very careful with this arrangement. It can cause data loss and Microsoft strongly recommends that users back up data before using it.

  1. Open Windows Defender.
  2. Click Machine security.
  3. Click Security processor details.
  4. Click Security processors solve problems.
  5. Click Clear TPM.
  6. Do system restart.

3. Prepare TPM

TPM abuse can be fixed by preparing the TPM.

  1. Tap on the Shortcut Win + R keyboard to open the run box.
  2. In the run box, apply tpm.msc.
  3. Click on the Prepare the TPM option in the column on the right.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: The Prepare TPM option may be greyed / or available. This means that the TPM is used and enabled. You have to clean it in this case.

4. Disable Hyper-V

If you do not need to run virtual machines, you can pay to disable Hyper-V. By doing this it can resolve TPM error.

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. go to Programs> Enter a program.
  3. In the left-hand column, click Turn Windows features on or off.
  4. In the window that opens, uncheck Hyper V.
  5. Click Ok.
  6. Restart the system.

The TPM chip is important and newer versions of Windows would not run without it. Already. not something you should neglect. If the above solutions do not work, it may be worth checking the hardware on your system for problems.
